Our beautiful hand woven sisal bags lined with a kikoy, fabric of African origin, particularly used in East Africa, are the result of a united project, “Because we’ve chosen to help Veerni”, sponsored by the Global Foundation for Humanity, The US, Moneygram Foundation, Queen Anne’s Gate, and Mama Kenya, whose objective is to enable hundreds of women, especially Kenyans, to become independent and to transmit their traditions.
The Kikoi or Kikoy, from Africa, means loincloth in Swahili : it is originally a traditional Kenyan fabric hand-woven from the best East African cottons, finished with hand-woven fringes.
